The other day, Angela (@bullpenbabe) grew quite agitated about something and demanded that we record a podcast. Rather than ask what was on her mind, I made the wise choice of pulling out the gear and turning on the microphones. I figured that the blow-back to Ian Kinsler‘s eloquently phrased message to *whoever* was the topic on her mind, and that notion was confirmed. We spent the better part of an hour talking about what he did on the field and in the dugout, what was said after the game by Kinsler himself along with manager Andy Green, and the various conversations that have resulted from this striking event. A shout-out to AP reporter Bernie Wilson is prominently featured, as he conducted a key post-game interview with the F-bomb artist himself.
While the etiquette of F-bomb delivery has been presented on these pages, Angela and I agreed that this particular case was unheralded and (mostly) uncalled for.
In addition to the Kinsler situation, we discussed the handling of Luis Urias, the team’s strategery surrounding the starting rotation, and we try to keep the bigger picture in focus. Please give it a listen and let us know what you think in the comments below or reach out to either of us on Twitter.
